Lake Levels Lower = Better Fish Concentrations!

Lake Arenal was at full-capacity for almost two months, and finally started going down in March, and continues to drop several meters each month now.

Our "points" are starting to re-imerge, as are the stumps, trees, and other structure that the guapote love to hang around.

We've been getting a lot of our guapote on top-water lures -- and those Secret Weapon lures are helping us land some big ones as well.

I've had several guys out fly-fishing, and we're getting a fair bite, but both the guapote and machaca are making us work to land them. We get LOTS of strikes, but getting them in the boat is another thing!

Weather has been perfect fishing weather -- slightly overcast and a little drizzle. We've even been catching fish mid-day, because the sun isn't blazing and sending the guapote down deep.
